It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, auntie, sister, cousin, kookum, chapan and friend A. Darlene Cook (nee Campeau) on Wednesday February 18, 2026

Darlene was born to John and Betsy Campeau in Birch River, MB on May 15,1962. She was 63 years old

Darlene and Gilbert were happily married on May 3,2003 she enjoyed spending time with her husband especially during sweetgrass season. she loved the company of visiting around with her friends and family. In the summer months she loved going to kettle hills picking blueberries and camping in Fort Qu’Appelle. Darlene along with her family always lived in seasonal camps like Red Deer, Steep Rock Bay, Beardy’s Point for hunting, snaring and fishing. Trapping with her dad mom and siblings was a season thing that they did together. She was also a foster parent for many years & worked at the Frontier school as night security. Dar enjoyed helping her sisters raise her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She always checked in on her chapans and choomies also her brothers Clayton and Albert Sr. she made everyone feel loved to the people around her.

She worked as a casual at the headstart until her passing, she was also a custodian at the school and a homemaker. Darlene used to love traveling with her mom and sisters to Hinton, Alberta to visit her big sister Annie Norman.

Darlene leaves to mourn her husband Gilbert Cook her sons Khristian Young, Lucas Cook, Thereon Cook, Brian Campeau, Darren and Ice Cook. step-daughters: Christina Campeau & Julie Cook; her granddaughter Cleo Gnida whom she raised as her own, twins Leonard and Andrew Cook who she helped raise. Sister: Annie (Leonard) Norman Brothers: Albert (Mary) Campeau, Clayton Campeau and Kirby Cook.

Sister in laws: Bertha Campeau, Wanda and Lisa Cook Brother in laws: Gary Spence, Henry, Leroy, Deano and Pearly Cook.

Darlene is predeceased by her Parents John and Betsy Campeau her sisters Isabella (Richard), Brisine (Alec), Jane (Harvey), Lucy and Brother: Edward Campeau, Norbert and baby infant, Sister-in-law Matilda Genaille, Rose Genaille & Clarice Chartier; Brother-in-law Lambert Cook, Daughter: Lore Campeau, Choomie; Karl Cook, Son: Thomas Cook. Father and Mother-in-law, Walter and Mina Cook. Nieces Valerie Campeau and Lavina Cook nephew: Edwin Campeau.Darlene had many aunties and uncles and relatives too numerous to mention. If we forgot to mention anyone it was not intentional.
